Greg began his career as an Iowa State Trooper in 1990.  After working “the streets” for the first 15 years of his career, Greg was selected to the Iowa State Patrol’s Executive Protection Unit (EPU).  As part of this selection, Greg received additional training with the Colorado State Patrol in Executive Protection training.  The Iowa State Patrol EPU was tasked with providing security and transportation for the Governor of Iowa and visiting dignitaries to Iowa.  Greg worked for four different Governors during his 16 years in the Executive Protection Unit.  Greg worked with visiting dignitaries, including Foreign Heads of States, US Cabinet members, members of Congress in leadership positions and visiting Governors from other States.  With Iowa being the first in the nation caucus, Greg also had the privilege of working with many Presidential Candidates.  Greg had a great relationship with other States’ Executive Protection Units, the Secret Service and other federal partners.

After a 31 year career with the State Patrol, Greg retired in 2021.  Greg would like to take his training and knowledge as well as the Iowa State Patrol motto of “Courtesy, Service, Protection” and provide the same level of commitment and service to his customers for all their transportation needs.   

Prior to joining the State Patrol, Greg is a 6 year US Army veteran. He served as a Military Policeman (MP).  While stationed in Berlin, Germany, Greg was selected as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Checkpoint Charlie along the Berlin Wall.  Greg was fortunate to be working the day the Berlin wall was opened.
